As mentioned earlier, the Eufy Floodlight Cam 2 Pro has its drawbacks you should know before buying. They include:
- It doesn’t support (24/7) continuous video recording
- It’s not natively compatible with the Apple Homekit system
- It has a (tough) plastic housing and wall bracket- make sure you don’t drop on concrete
- It recently has had some security concerns: unauthorized uploading of data to the cloud and lack of encryption for (VLC) web portal streams. But the company has come forward and promised to solve the two issues.

Eufy is as good as Arlo in picture quality. It’s better at some point as you can get free local storage, smart AI detection, plus integration with Alexa and Google Home. Then the Floodlight camera showers your compound with up to 3000 lumens of brightness.
Similar to many standalone wireless cameras, the Eufy floodlight camera will not work without WiFi. It requires a consistent internet connection to sync with the Eufy servers for remote viewing and recording.
